Youth Entrepreneurship Training

Delaware Kenya Association’s Youth Entrepreneurship Center (YEP) focuses on providing training and unique experiences for youth to take an idea of their own and turn it into an actual business that serves their Kenyan communities. Our programming is built around the idea that by allowing youth to be innovative through a hands-on approach, they are more likely to succeed as entrepreneurs.

Our youth entrepreneurship center model is designed with Kenyan communities in mind so that it can be replicated in different parts of the country. It will identify and recruit youth between ages 15 – 29 years old and encourage them to consider entrepreneurship as a viable choice while they are still young.
Participants in our program have the opportunity to engage in entrepreneurial efforts within their communities, and in the process, create an economically self sustaining community. Additionally, they will play a big role in stimulating employment among the youth and create the next generation of Kenya’s business people and employers.
The youth participating in our entrepreneurship training gain valuable and transferable life skills and core competencies including:

• Communication and Leadership skills
• Community Impact
• Decision Making
• Effective Communication
• Financial Management
• Idea Development
• Project Management
• Market Research
• Marketing & Advertising
• Mentoring
