Allen also manages the local public relations
and media strategy in concert with the national media team and is a member
of the Delaware market leadership team. Previously he was responsible for
mid-Atlantic call center operations in Baltimore, Md.
Allen joined Corporate Communications in January 2004
after serving as the founding president of the Metropolitan
Wilmington Urban League. Prior to holding that position,
he was Speechwriter & Special Assistant to United States
Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
Allen holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Urban Affairs
and Public Policy from the University of Delaware and a
Master of Public Administration degree from Baruch College
(CUNY) in New York City.
Allen serves on the Board of Trustees for the St. Francis
Foundation, the Wilmington Hope Commission, the McLaughlin
Education Fund and the Delaware Advisory Committee for
the Rhodes Trust. In 2003, he was awarded the National
Urban League’s Whitney M. Young Jr. Award for Advancing
Racial Equality and named one of the 25 most influential
Delawareans by Delaware Today magazine.
He lives with his family in Wilmington. |
